Higher Education

We offer Higher Education (HE) courses from Level 4 to Level 6 including HNCs, HNDs, Foundation Degrees and Undergraduate Degrees. You can study on a full-time or part-time basis across a variety of career areas. We offer a range of University-level courses as well as working in partnership with Cardiff Metropolitan University and being a collaborative partner of the University of South Wales.

Why study a higher education course at Bridgend College?

You don’t have to go to university to study a higher education course. We’re on your doorstep and there are lots of reasons to study with us – from small class sizes to excellent student support, we can help you achieve your goals.

Achieve your goals

During 22/23, 92% of our higher education learners successfully passed their qualification.* We’re proud of what our students achieve when they’ve left us too; our alumni have progressed to postgraduate study, set up successful businesses and some have travelled the world with their work!

*Based on the number of students who were still active on their course at the end of the year and the percentage of them that successfully passed their course.

Boost your employment prospects

Studying a higher education course with us will prepare you for your next step in the world of work, whether that’s achieving a promotion or a career change. We’re also proud to work closely with a range of local and national employers to give our students excellent networking opportunities and access to guest speakers.

Excellent support

We’re there to support you every step of the way. You’ll have frequent contact with tutors to ensure you’re on track with your studies, plus we have a wide range of support outside of the classroom – from our wellbeing team to careers guidance.

Small class size

We offer small class sizes, so you will learn in an environment which will maximise your learning, allowing you to develop excellent relationships with your fellow students and tutors.

Save money

Studying locally can allow you to save money on university accommodation or halls of residence, plus our fees are often lower than universities. You’ll still have access to financial support during your studies too, which is outlined on our Student Finance page.
